DISC Behavioral Profiling

What Is Disc

DiSC profiling is a tool used to identify behavioural style by measuring attributes or qualities of a person and certain aspects of his or her personality. Choose from 4 profiles:

DISC is an acronym for the four primary dimensions of behaviour: • Dominance –results oriented, strong willed and decisive
• Influence – Outgoing, enthusiastic and optimistic
• Steadiness – even-tempered, accommodating and patient
• Conscientiousness – analytical, precise and systematic

The DiSC behavioural model is based on research conducted by William Moulton Marston (1898-1947) in which he examined the behaviour of people in their normal environment and specific situations. He found that all people have two basic needs that drive us and influence our behaviour in relation to others: the need for affiliation and the need for control and his findings are documented in his book the “Emotions of Normal People” published in 1928.

All Auridian trainers and consultants are accredited in DiSC and are proud to work closely with the team at Integro to provide our clients with the best products, services and support.

Why Use DiSC

Auridian consultants have years of experience in using this information to help individuals, teams and organisations constructively manage conflict, deal with change, create culture, build morale and increase productivity and performance.

DiSC allows people to gain self awareness by enabling them to understand their natural behavioural tendencies, including strengths and weaknesses in particular situations.

The key to using DiSC effectively is to understand that no matter what your profile is, there will be times when being yourself will work well for you, and other times when your natural behavioural tendencies do not produce positive results for you. DiSC enables people to adapt their thinking and behaviour in order to be more effective, improve communication and create win/win solutions.
